Irrespective of the technology employed, the bedrock of any health care facility, human or veterinary, has as its foundation patient care. Valley Animal Hospital is one of the few general practices in the NY metro area to own a state of the art Snyder Intensive Care Unit. You can be sure your companion animal is receiving the best of care. This cage not only maintains high levels of Oxygen, but also actively removes carbon dioxide from the air tight, sealed environment. This helps the body maintain high blood levels of oxygen even in the most critical of patients. The unit keeps the temperature within 1/5th of a degree from 40 to 105ºF. 80% of our post op cases are kept here from one to several hours after surgery.

The treatment area was designed so a person can stand at any one point and see everything that is happening. This is obviously an advantage as rapid changes in the status of a patient comes to the attention of the technical staff as well as doctors quickly.
We even have a dedicated isolation room with it's own venting. All patients with infectious diseases are kept in this room until they get a clean bill of health. In this way, you can be certain the chance for spreading contagious diseases are kept at a minimum.

And patient care doesn't stop with what you see, but also with what you DON'T smell! Our heating and air conditioning has three dedicated systems to help us ALL breath better. We have a fresh air heat exchanger that allows 15% fresh air in at all times. We also have Ultraviolet scrubbers that kill bacteria and viruses. Finally, there is a central HEPA filtration system to catch molds and spores. All this equates to a healthy environment so we can help the body in the healing process. Lastly, the building exterior consists of 26% glass of special Energy Star® rated glass.. let the sunshine in! |
